These beautiful hand turned crochet hooks are made from three exotic wood. You will receive one of each wood, Purpleheart, Redheart and Yellowheart. They are shaped with a larger handle to relieve stress on the hand and wrist when crocheting. The hooks have an Ergonomic shape that fits nicely in the hand.

The crochet hooks measures 5 3/4" to 8" long depending on the size of the hook and is 3/4" to 1" in diameter at its widest.

General guidelines are sizes

Sizes K (6.5mm) and smaller are 5 3/4" to 6" long.

Sizes L (8mm to M (9mm) are 6 1/2" to 71/4" long.

Sizes N (10mm) and larger are 7" to 8" long.

Hooks with multiple woods tend to be to the longer side of these measurements. The reason for the variation is that each hooks is hand turned and while the standard shape, which gives the ergonomic advantage, is maintained, each hook is uniquely it's own.

Because this hook is handcrafted there will be variation in appearance, grain and color. No two Hooks will be the same! Pictures are examples of what you will receive.

Purpleheart - (Peltogyne) - also known as amaranth, violetwood, tananeo and sak, has a creamy white/gray sapwood but like its name suggests, the heartwood is a bright, striking purple when freshly cut, darkening into a deeper purple with age. It has a medium to fine texture with a luster that ranges from medium to high; its grain is usually straight but can be wavy or irregular.
Found in Central and South America, this exotic wood is a worldwide favorite. Tall and large trees grow abundantly, sometimes reaching a diameter of five feet with clear knot free log lengths typical.
Yellowheart - (Euxylophora paraensis) is also known as Pau Amarello, Limao rana, Pau Setim, and Pequiea Setim.

This beautiful hardwood has been used for everything from hat racks to flooring, drawer slides to fine furniture. The yellow stays yellow and does not fade. Gluing properties are excellent, it finishes to a beautiful sheen, and the finished product promises to become heirloom quality.
Redheart - (Sickingia salvadorensis) - other name are Chakte Kok, Cuban mahogany, Aguano, Cobano to name a few.
Redheart displays marvelous grain patterns, with wavy lines of dark brown and bright pink-red. The swirling end-grain indicates interlocking grain that needs sharp tools to work. The sapwood is a contrasting color and ages to a pale yellow. Redheart is from Mexico and Central America. Can be a medium to heavy wood.
