PLEASE NOTE: Redheart is a softer wood and may not be suitable for smaller sizes (H and smaller) I will turn if ordered but Bloodwood is a better choice for a smaller sized red hook.
These beautiful hand turned crochet hooks are made from three exotic wood. You will receive one of each wood, Purpleheart, Redheart and Yellowheart. They are shaped with a larger handle to relieve stress on the hand and wrist when crocheting. The hooks have an Ergonomic shape that fits nicely in the hand.

Because this hook is handcrafted there will be variation in appearance, grain, size and color. While there are slight variation the basic Ergonomic shape is maintained. No two handcrafted hooks will be the same!

Found in Central and South America, this exotic wood is a worldwide favorite. Tall and large trees grow abundantly, sometimes reaching a diameter of five feet with clear knot free log lengths typical.
Yellowheart - (Euxylophora paraensis) is also known as Pau Amarello, Limao rana, Pau Setim, and Pequiea Setim.
This beautiful hardwood has been used for everything from hat racks to flooring, drawer slides to fine furniture. The yellow stays yellow and does not fade. Gluing properties are excellent, it finishes to a beautiful sheen, and the finished product promises to become heirloom quality.
Redheart - (Sickingia salvadorensis) - other name are Chakte Kok, Cuban mahogany, Aguano, Cobano to name a few.
Redheart displays marvelous grain patterns, with wavy lines of dark brown and bright pink-red. The swirling end-grain indicates interlocking grain that needs sharp tools to work. The sapwood is a contrasting color and ages to a pale yellow. Redheart is from Mexico and Central America. Can be a medium to heavy wood.
