Australian Banksia Pod Red Crochet Hook
I'm slowly working through the Banksia Pod series and giving them a bit more color. Red was the first. Colors were chosen using the split complementary triangle on a color wheel.
This beautiful hand turned crochet hook is made from the Australian Banksia Pod cast in Red, Green and Blue Amuilite with your choice of ends. It's shaped with a larger handle to relieve stress on the hand and wrist when crocheting. The hook has an Ergonomic shape that fits nicely in the hand.

Because this hook is handcrafted there will be variation in appearance, grain, size and color. While there are slight variation the basic Ergonomic shape is maintained. No two handcrafted hooks will be the same!

Banksia pods range in size from 4″ to over 12″ long, with a diameter ranging from 2.5″ to 5″ wide. Just under the exterior of the pod, there is an area of reddish brown fuzz material. Further toward the center is the denser, wood-like core. The seed cavities can reach well over halfway into the pod, giving turned projects a very unique appearance and texture.
