Black and White Ebony (Diospyros embryopteris)  also known as Pale Moon Ebony, is an exotic wood with color that is reported to vary with species, usually uniformly black with light-colored bands, pale to medium brown zones, or with marked contrast between almost white and black wood. The black heartwood is reported to be more brittle than the lighter colored sapwood.
This wood is very hard to work with and almost impossible to dry. It very prone to checking (cracking) and warping. That being said it is one of the most beautiful wood there is. The flowing dark and light color looks like it was poured together in liquid form.

This wood is found in Southeast Asia, Thailand.
