This beautiful handcrafted crochet hook is made from Pistachio.  It's shaped with a larger handle to relieve stress on the hand and wrist when crocheting. The hook has an Ergonomic shape that fits nicely in the hand.

Please see Hook Info for Crochet Hook dimensions. Nelsonwood Hook Info

Because this hook is handcrafted there will be variation in appearance, grain, size and color. While there are slight variation the basic Ergonomic shape is maintained. No two handcrafted hooks will be the same!

Pistachio (Pistacia vera)  Pistachio is a member of the cashew family. It's a small tree originating from Central Asia and the Middle East. The tree produces seeds that are widely consumed as food. Modern day the Pastachio grow in Mediterranean and California
Pastachio is mostly known for its edible nuts. The wood of Pistachio trees is uniquely beautiful, though it's seldom seen or used in wooden objects. Much like Olive trees, Pistachio trees are much more valuable on orchards for their food production, and are generally valued for their lumber.
The heartwood of Pistachio is strongly fluorescent under a black light, glowing a yellow/green that’s almost as vibrant as Black Locust or Coffee tree.
Uses range from inlays, musical instruments, carvings, knife scales, turned objects and of course nut.
