This crochet hook is made from African Zebrawood with your choice of exotic woods and rings. The hook is shaped with a larger handle to relieve stress on the hand and wrist when crocheting. The crochet hook has an Ergonomic shape that fits nicely in the hand.

Because this hook is handcrafted there will be variation in appearance, grain, size and color. While there are slight variation the basic Ergonomic shape is maintained. No two handcrafted hooks will be the same!

Angle or Cross Cut refers to the direction of the grain to the cut of the blade. By cutting the wood this way the hook will show greater variance of patterns, color and some end grain compared to cutting with the grain.

Zebrawood (Microberlinia brazzavillensis) is an imported hardwood and is pale golden brown to pinkish-brown with pronounced dark brown streaks giving the quartered surfaces a zebra-stripe appearance. The grain in interlocked. This wood has a coarse texture and lustrous surface. Zebrawood is heavy, hard and strong The wood of Microberlinia is imported from Central Africa, (Gabon, Cameroon, and Congo). The heartwood is a pale golden yellow, distinct from the very pale color of the sapwood and features narrow streaks of dark brown to black. Zebrawood can also be a pale brown with regular or irregular marks of dark brown in varying widths. It is almost always quartersawn to get the exciting alternating color pattern.
It is a heavy and hard wood with a somewhat coarse texture, often with an interlocked or wavy grain. The interlocked grain of this wood, like that of many tropical woods, can make it difficult to work.
