OLIVEWOOD (Olea hochstetteri) Olive trees are quite distinctive, being fairly small with short, stout, twisting trunks and gnarly branches. They also enjoy incredible longevity, sometimes existing for more than 1,500 years! (These ancient trees develop huge trunks, often several feet wide.) Although Olive trees are primarily cultivated for . . . well, olives (and olive oil), the available supply of wood from the trees is fairly consistent.

With different ergonomic hooks, this has to be my favorite. What makes it better is the hook is metal, so it still feels the same as when I'm using my usual metal hook. I love that he's able to make available wooden hooks, Boyle or Bates hook. I can crochet longer than before. It may be pricey for some, but I'd suggest investing in one size you use regularly. Ordering was a bit confusing for me, but Bryan was very helpful with numerous emails and some photos back and forth. His customer service skills are absolutely 💯%. I'm very happy with my purchase!

I have purchased 10 hooks now from Bryan and couldn't be happier. I got them in olive wood with the Clover metal tips. I have problems with my thumb and crocheting was becoming painful. Thus began my search for a hook that would not cause me pain. I have tried many other hooks but, these hooks, combined with the Clover metal tips are perfect for me. They are extremely beautiful to look at and a joy to crochet with. The craftsmanship of these hooks is excellent and I expect to have them for the rest of my life. Thank you Bryan for creating such wonderful crochet hooks!
